Asian junket operator Suncity Group Holdings Limited has reportedly announced that it intends to begin construction on the second phase of its $4 billion Hoiana integrated casino resort from sometime later this year.
According to a report from GGRAsia, the Hong Kong-listed firm provisionally opened the first stage of the giant Vietnamese development in late-June complete with a five-star hotel and an 18-hole golf course alongside a small casino offering a collection of some 300 slots and 140 gaming tables. The source detailed that Hoiana is located some 21 miles south of the port city of Da Nang and soon intends to hold an official ceremony to christen a further three hotels so as to take its total inaugural allocation of rooms, suites and villas to beyond 1,000.

Suncity Group Holdings Limited furthermore reportedly proclaimed that its Hoiana development is now set to look towards ‘tourists from southeast Asia’ for its main source of future revenues following the recent crack-down by Chinese officials on foreign casino solicitation. As such and the firm purportedly declared that it will also be ‘expanding into East Asia to further target Japanese and Korean travellers’ via the development beginning from later this year of non-gaming facilities on ‘Miyako Island, Okinawa and Niseko in Hokkaido in Japan.’

“The first phase of Hoiana covers an area of over 408 acres with the second phase of the project commencing in 2021. Hoiana will look towards bringing in tourists from southeast Asia as its main source markets in the future. We believe Hoiana will bring in significant revenues and sustainable development prospects and also demonstrate our determination to gradually evolve into an integrated resort operator and actively expand our resort management business.”

In related news and GGRAsia reported that Suncity Group Holdings Limited moreover proclaimed that it hopes to begin welcoming guests to the Philippines’ envisioned Resorts World Westside City development ‘before 2023’ and will be commencing work on the second phase of its Tigre De Cristal facility in Russia from later this year to double ‘the number of entertainment facilities and triple the number of guest rooms’.
