Alibaba Group-owned lottery solutions provider AGTech’s Beijing AGTech GOT Technology subsidiary has won tenders to supply sports lottery terminals in the provinces of Hebei, Fujian, Sichuan and Zhejiang and the municipality of Tianjin.
The supplier will provide traditional sales terminals for sports lottery in Tianjin and will provide Android terminals in Hebei, Fujian and Zhejiang. It will provide both types of terminal in Sichuan.
“So far, AGTech GOT has already won many tenders in various provinces, municipalities and autonomous region across China this year, which reaffirmed the hardware division’s continued dedication to and leading position in China’s sports lottery terminal market, demonstrating the continued effort and competitiveness of AGTech’s lottery terminals,” AGTech said.
“AGTech will continue to enhance product innovation, ensure safety and research and development compliance and contribute to the overall healthy development of China’s lottery market.”
Last month, AGTech reported revenue of HKD$43.9m (£4.3m/€4.8m/USD$5.7m) for the first six months of 2020, down 8.0% year-on-year, but was able to cut its losses by 12.1% to $105.6m.
Earlier this year, AGTech won tenders to supply lottery terminals in the provinces of Anhui, Shanxi, Jilin, Hubei and Guizhou as procurement processes resumed following a four-month halt due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
In the first half of 2019, the Chinese Welfare Lottery’s sales came to CNY59.29bn contribution from the, down 39.4% year-on-year, while sales fell 43.7% to CNY64.61bn for the Sports Lottery.
