FanDuel Group partners with Gamban in responsible gaming commitment

FEEL THE REAL GAME AND BECOME A WINNER AT OUR TOP CASINOS

U.S. sports betting company FanDuel Group has partnered with safer gambling software specialist Gamban as a “next phase” in its comprehensive responsible gaming initiatives.

Upon regulatory approval in the United States, the new alliance will see the UK company‘s blocking software made available free-of-charge to customers who decide to self-exclude from the operator’s real money gaming sites or those identifying as problem gamblers.

Free subscription:

Under the agreement, customers of FanDuel who self-exclude will be offered a complimentary subscription to the product which, according to the press release, “proactively” blocks user access to thousands of gambling sites on as many as 15 personal devices.

The new partnership follows FanDuel Group’s multi-million dollar commitment to the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) “Have a Game Plan” public service campaign, which promotes the basics of responsible sports betting, educating consumers on how to wager responsibly and within limits.

Chief Risk & Compliance Officer for FanDuel Group, Carolyn Renzin said in the company presser…

“Educating customers about the importance of gambling responsibly and within limits is a business imperative and ethically the right thing to do.” She went on to explain that FanDuel already offers a suite of tools to aid customers in responsible sports betting. And that offering Gamban‘s software “to those customers signaling they need help adds another layer of protection for our customers, our program, and to the industry.

Widespread protection:

Customers of FanDuel have access to a series of tools, including wager limits, setting deposit limits, and time limits, to manage their play, with the last “play safe” tool available to them is to self-exclude. Upon self-excluding from one site, a customer is likewise self-excluded from all other FanDuel sites spanning its online casino, fantasy, racing, and sportsbook products.

According to the New York City headquartered gambling company, it follows strict exclusion process protocols and employs the aforementioned policy across all of its products to protect its customers who are “signaling” they may have a gambling problem.

Calling it a “massive moment for the industry” and one they’ve been “pushing to achieve” since its launch, Gamban founder Jack Symons said…

“As the largest real money gaming provider in the United States, FanDuel Group is making a statement of intent and throwing down the gauntlet to operators across the industry to offer self-exclusion support for their vulnerable customers.”

Upon gaining regulatory approval, players who self-exclude from the Group’s real money gaming sites will be offered a Gamban license as an accompaniment to their self-exclusion. In addition to blocking that individual from all of the operator’s sites, it will also block the customer from all real money iGaming sites including online casinos, legal and offshore sportsbooks, social gaming sites, esports sites, and poker sites from use on up to 15 devices.

Flutter Entertainment:

The British company also partnered with parent company to FanDuel Group, Irish bookmaking holding company Flutter Entertainment, to distribute its self-exclusion software in Europe. Furthermore, the Flutter subsidiary’s partnership with Gamban has been extended in North America to include FanDuel, Betfair, TVG, FOXBet, Stardust, Stars Casino, and PokerStars. Once the product launches, those players who choose self-exclusion will be able to on an “opt-in” basis.

Kindred link:

The new partnership just one on a series of similar collaborations for Gamban, having inked a similar agreement with Maltese online casino and sportsbook operator Kindred Group for its United States-facing variant of its Unibet brand. The deal enables Unibet customers in American jurisdictions such as Indiana, New Jersey and Pennsylvania to download the self-exclusion software.

The UK company also partnered with Norway’s national lottery and gaming operator, Norsk Tipping, to provide its software to those choosing to self-exclude.
