PokerStars announces Full Tilt Poker will cease to exist starting February 25

FEEL THE REAL GAME AND BECOME A WINNER AT OUR TOP CASINOS

One of the top online poker rooms in the world will soon be no more. PokerStars has announced that the Full Tilt Poker brand and software will be dissolved on February 25. Players of Full Tilt will be moved to PokerStars, with all promotions and balances shifted over.

Why the Change?

The news first broke of the removal of Full Tilt Poker via Pokerfuse. Later on, PokerStars provided a FAQ page to provide additional information on the decision. Under the Why category, PokerStars stated that the brand is constantly working to improve its software and customer experience.

Over the past few years, there has been limited focus and resources applied to Full Tilt. The company feels that now is the time to consolidate the online poker brands so that everyone has access to the most innovative games and the best features available via PokerStars.

So, What Happens Now?

All players who have a Full Tilt account will be switched to a Stars Account. The universal account can be used for all Stars Group brands in the player’s location. Players can easily use their Full Tilt login information to sign in at PokerStars. All settings, preferences, and balances will then be displayed at the site.

Players will not lose any of their current details. All games that were provided by Full Tilt are available at PokerStars. Any tournament registrations currently in place will be switched there as well. Players will now have access to more games available at the sister site compared to what was available at Full Tilt.

To get started, players need to download the mobile application or desktop software of PokerStars. Use the Full Tilt info to log in. Start using the account as you normally would. Players can make the switch anytime, even now, before the Full Tilt software is taken offline.

Full Tilt History

The Full Tilt Poker brand launched about three years after PokerStars, back in 2004. At the time, it rose to become the second-largest online poker room in the world. Many well-known pros became ambassadors of the site over time, including Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Tom Dwan, and others.

The poker room enjoyed many successful years until April 2011, when Black Friday occurred. This day led to the brand shutting down and they did not return until 2012, after being purchased by PokerStars. The site continued to function but was unable to reach its previous success.
