PokerStars have announced some exciting news as Brazilian soccer great Neymar Jr. returns as their brand ambassador. He is a Brazilian sensation so it is certainly welcoming news for the brand as he returns to the world’s largest online poker site for what is set to be a spectacular new partnership.
Neymar Jr. Returns
He is one of the most talented footballers the game has ever seen and this latest partnership represents a realigning of the stars. It brings together a global great on the soccer field with the world’s leading card room.
Neymar has long been a passionate poker player and has made numerous appearances on the European Poker Tour, the Brazil Series of Poker and at the online tables. His return to the fold will be a fresh collaboration across the brand.
Neymar Jr. returns to PokerStars as their brand ambassador in what is set to be a fantastic partnership.
When the partnership was announced Neymar said “When I’m not playing football, I love playing cards. Competing with my friends is a huge passion of mine, I love the sense of community, the fun, and the unpredictable moments that can occur in any game.”

A Significant Partnership
Also excited with this latest deal, Marin Nieri who is the Global Director of Brand and Creative at PokerStars added “Neymar Jr. is a true global superstar, but what underpins this partnership is his genuine love for poker. About Neymar Jr.
He is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in world soccer and is the most expensive player that has ever been transferred between clubs. At the young age of just 28, he has currently played 103 times for Brazil, scoring 64 goals and is also a legend at three domestic clubs in three other countries.
For Santos in Brazil, he scored 105 goals over 186 appearances which earned him his move to the Catalan giants Barcelona. Here he went on to score 105 goals in 145 appearances and won the treble of La Liga title, Spanish Cup and the Champions League in 2014.
In 2017, he then moved to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of €222 million which still stands as a world record. Neymar continues to be the undisputed star of football in France and has won the Ligue 1 titles in each of the three seasons since his arrival. So far he has scored 79 goals in 97 appearances.
Underlying Passion
Neymar is different from all the other celebrities that have come and gone. His passion for the game is totally genuine. By the end of most days at EPT Barcelona, Neymar could be found in a corner of a tournament room playing the last €1K on the schedule.
